Product Description
Estes 7292 Terra GLM Beginner Model Rocket Kit (EST7292)
The future of long-range air defense is the Terra GLM. This hypothetical ground launch missile is designed around the latest rocketry and armament technology. Highlights include a next generation ramjet engine with a variable intake scoop for hypersonic flight, lightweight and efficient fuel cell technology to power all electronic and electrical components, and a split fin design with an upper stabilizing section and lower flight control surfaces. The ordinance segment of this mock missile can be adapted for a range of payloads, dependent on the mission and the target.
While the full-scale Terra GLM may not be real (yet!) the Estes GLM model rocket is ready to be flown today! This scale-like model missile is loaded with great features that set it apart. The kit is assembled with several pre-finished plastic parts – ramjet style nosecone, mid-body tube joiner, detailed fins with simulated (non-functional) steering surfaces, and engine mount components – all molded in military olive drab. The body tubes also come pre-finished in military colors, so no painting is required. The realistic details don’t end there! The Terra GLM includes a sheet of peel-and-stick decals that push the look of this model to the next level. Simulated access panels, rivet points, roll pattern markings, and military-style stenciling all contribute to the authentic look of the finished model rocket.
The Terra GLM is no slouch when launch day comes around, either! This sleek and attractive model can easily reach 875 feet on an Estes C6-5 engine. Launching from a smaller field? No problem – just use the recommended Estes B4-4 or B6-4 engines for a more modest peak attitude. Engines are held in place with a quick-release engine hook and can quickly and easily be replaced between flights. Keep your eyes peeled for the classic orange, 12 inch parachute when it deploys at ejection. You’ll have your Terra GLM back in no time, ready to launch and defend the skies once more!
